Skaters, BMXers and scooter riders are being urged to help refine the final designs of a £400,000 skate park revamp.

BCP Council is looking to completely rebuild the area in Baiter Park that is adjacent to the boating lake.

Initial concept designs for the skate park have already been shaped by feedback from local skaters who submitted a wishlist of features for the project.

The council is working on the designs with specialists Maverick Skateparks and views are being sought until 15 November.

The concrete skatepark specialists said: "The site does come with some pretty considerable design constraints, which we'll need to take into account as we move forward.

"Sadly, this means that a bowl isn't feasible here, but there are still plenty of exciting options on the table."

BCP Council said it hoped to make a space "that's fun, inclusive, and built for the community.

"We want skaters of all ages to help shape the design so we can make sure those that are going to use it will love it for years to come."

The skate park, Poole's largest, currently has a series of metal ramps on a tarmac base.
