The former site of the Octopus restaurant in St Peter Port has been listed for sale.

A large fire destroyed the restaurant on 24 February 2024 and the site has since been cleared.

Watts Property Consultants has listed the property on its website, with the price being available on application and initial advice from planners saying there is an opportunity to create a building of four-and-a-half storeys.

The site was sold by Deputy Yvonne Burford for £1 in August 2025 - who at the time said the sale would allow her to focus on her work in the States. Since it was cleared it has sat empty.

The fire broke out in the early hours of the morning and firefighters spent several hours tackling it. No-one was injured.

In March 2024, Guernsey Police closed their investigations into the fire after they found no evidence of foul pay.
