Food van threatened with explosion during robbery

The police has been hunting a robber who used a gas canister and lighter to threaten people running a food van.

The incident happened near All Saints Church in Stradbroke, Suffolk, on Tuesday evening.

Suffolk Police said the suspect made a failed attempt to light the canister before making off with a small quantity of cash.

Officers have appealed for any witnesses to the robbery, which took place between 20:00 BST and 22:00, to get in touch.
