Old ski lift chairs prove to be in high demand
Glencoe Mountain ResortA unique sale at a Highland ski centre has raised £36,000 after it proved more popular than anticipated at the weekend.
Glencoe Mountain Resort sold 120 ski chairs - from the centre's former access chairlift - for £300 each on Sunday.
Organisers said demand for the chairs, which date back to 1990, was huge with people travelling from across the country to purchase them.
The ski centre had only intended to sell 107 chairs but it said that as it did not want to leave anyone disappointed it had sold an additional 13 that it had intended to keep.
Andy Meldrum, who is managing director at Glencoe Mountain Resort, thanked everyone involved for their support.
The money raised will go towards the £200,000 refurbishment and upgrading of the new lift.
