Metrolink tickets are being accepted on local buses while trams are suspended

Services on a busy tram route linking Manchester and Salford have been suspended due to a fault on the line.

The overhead line problem between Anchorage and Salford Quays means there is no tram service between Pomona and Eccles.

The Bee Network posted on its website: "Trams operating from Ashton-under-Lyne will terminate at Deansgate-Castlefield.

"Customers can reach Cornbrook and Pomona stops by changing at Deansgate-Castlefield for the Trafford Centre line."

The service said tram tickets were being accepted on bus services.
