Five men have been charged following an investigation into a people-smuggling network.

The National Crime Agency (NCA) said the men were believed to be "key figures" in an organisation suspected of transporting Vietnamese migrants to the UK in lorries and small boats.

Van Huy Nguyen, 22, of Brameld Road, Rawmarsh, Rotherham, Vinh Van Nguyen, 31, from Coventry, Lia-Chien Trong, 33, of no fixed abode, Sy Trai Ho, 27, of no fixed abode, and Quang Van Nguyen, 31, from Coventry, have been charged with one count of conspiracy to assist illegal entry to the UK and one count of transferring criminal property.

All five defendants appeared at magistrates' courts on Wednesday.
