Bird flu cases have been found at a Warwickshire beauty spot.

Ryton Pools Country Park, near Ryton-on-Dunsmore, highlighted the outbreak on Sunday via its social media channels.

A spokesperson for the site urged visitors to stick to footpaths, keep dogs on leads and avoid contact with dead or sick birds. They also advised against handling feathers or any surface contaminated with bird droppings.

The BBC has contacted the Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs (Defra) for more information.

Those who keep poultry or other birds at home have been advised to wash their hands and disinfect footwear after their visit.

Anyone who identifies any dead birds at the park has been asked to report them to Defra.

Although avian flu can affect humans and other mammals, the UK Health Security Agency said the risk to the general public's health was very low.
