Five arrests after armed groups fight in street
GoogleFive men have been arrested after a large group of people armed with poles and pieces of wood were spotted fighting in the street, police said.
The fracas on Firth Park Road, in the Page Hall area of Sheffield, was reported to officers on Monday at about 16:30 GMT.
South Yorkshire Police sent specialist teams, including dog units, to deal with the disturbance.
The group dispersed but the force said five men, aged 19, 31, 35, 37 and 53, were arrested on suspicion of violent disorder and remained in police custody.
An officer suffered a minor injury after being hit by a thrown object, but no further injuries were reported, police said.
CCTV and body-worn camera footage was being reviewed, a force spokesperson said.
Ch Supt Jamie Henderson asked for anyone with information to get in touch.
"Violence on our streets will not be tolerated and has no place in our community," he added.
