Imitation firearm seized as police arrest man

A man has been arrested on suspicion of possessing an imitation firearm.

Norfolk Police said it was called to New Road in North Walsham at 08:16 GMT after reports of a man with a gun.

The road was closed and a man in his 50s was arrested and taken to Aylsham Police Investigation Centre for questioning.

An imitation firearm was seized by officers. No-one had been injured, the force said.

There are two schools in the area and Norfolk Police coordinated with both of them as a precautionary measure.
