Police carried out road checks in the Oxford area on Monday

A lorry driver has been stopped after "texting with both hands, steering with his knees and watching a movie on a tablet, whilst bouncing off kerbs and straying into the other lane," police have said.

The man was driving a 40-tonne HGV on the A34 before being stopped by Thames Valley Police on Monday.

He was spotted by an officer on an unmarked motorcycle during a road safety operation in the Oxford area, the force added.

The man denied using his phone but was caught texting by his internal dashcam, according to officers. The BBC has asked Thames Valley Police what action was taken against the driver.
