A prisoner who failed to return to jail from an approved home visit has been traced after four days.

James Fitzpatrick, 36, did not report back to HMP Castle Huntly - an open jail near Dundee - on Tuesday.

Police issued an appeal to trace him, and said he had been seen in Irvine and Stevenston in North Ayrshire.

Officers had warned members of the public not to approach him.
