New treatment centre revamps urgent care
Royal Surrey NHS Foundation TrustPatients in Haslemere can now receive more comprehensive care after a revamp of medical facilities in the town.
The Minor Injuries Unit has now become an Urgent Treatment Centre (UTC) which offers care for a wider range of urgent but non-life-threatening health conditions, the Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust said.
Staff at the Haslemere UTC work in close partnership with the Royal Surrey in Guildford as part of a national initiative to improve access to urgent care and ease pressure on emergency departments.
The UTC is open every day from 08.00 to 17.00, with the last walk-in patient at 16.00.
A new Point of Care Testing room has also been added as part of the upgrade, which enables blood tests to be carried out on-site, reducing the need for patients to travel to Guildford for urgent investigations.
The UTC is open every day from 08.00 to 17.00, with the last walk-in patient at 16.00.
