Plant pots returned to owners after spree of thefts
TVPPlant pots taken from outside homes during a spree of thefts have now been returned.
More than 20 were stolen in Grove and Wantage in Oxfordshire earlier this year.
The force said two people, who did not live in the area, were arrested and "formally dealt with" after taking responsibility for the thefts. It added that they had also been ordered to pay £900 in compensation to those whose pots were not recovered.
PC Jez Oldroyd thanked everyone who reported information and supported the investigation.
"It really does make a difference," he said.
Most of the pots were returned to their rightful owners but a small number were not claimed.
PC Oldroyd said he was "chuffed" to donate the remaining pots to the Wantage Sanctuary Care Home, where they were "gratefully received".
