Woman in serious condition after being hit by car
GoogleA woman is in hospital with serious injuries after being hit by a car in Leicester.
Police were called to Uppingham Road, near to the junction with Humberstone Drive, at 10:31 GMT on Wednesday.
A pedestrian - a woman in her 50s - is in a serious condition while the driver of a black Mercedes C class was not injured, Leicestershire Police said.
The force is now appealing for any witnesses or anyone with any dashcam footage to make contact.
Officers are particularly keen to speak to a woman who had been cycling and stopped to assist the injured pedestrian.
In a statement, the force said: "She may be a key witness, but she left the scene before officers were able to obtain her details."
