A path that had been washed away due to a landslip, has been reopened after major works.

The landslip occurred on the Railway Walk, near the Jersey Water impounding pond by Mont Nicolle, in February.

A large section of the footpath fell away, which lead to its closure.

Infrastructure and Environment said after teams initially stabilised the path to ensure islanders' safety it has been returned to its original width and reopened.

In February, it was suggested that the closure was expected to last for several months and engineers deemed further collapse was possible.

The landslip came after significant rainfall across the island.
