Police are searching for a cyclist who exposed himself to a teenage girl.

Avon and Somerset Police said the suspect, believed to be in his mid-20s, was riding a small black bike when he approached the girl on Lyndhurst Road in Weston-super-Mare, North Somerset, at about 17:00 GMT on 19 December.

Described as white, with a ginger or brown beard, he was said to be wearing a blue jacket with a possible high-visibility vest over his clothing.

The force said it had conducted house-to-house and CCTV enquiries and was now asking businesses and residents to review their doorbell or dashcam footage.

Police said it was particularly interested in footage from Lyndhurst Road, Moorland Road and any nearby streets from about 17:00 on the night in question.

Describing it as an "appalling incident", Insp Lee Kerslake said while it comes as a concern to the community, "offences of this nature remain rare" in the area.

"While the victim did not come to any physical harm she has understandably been left distressed by the incident and we have ensured appropriate support has been put in place for her," he added.
