Tribute to 'beloved dad who had mischievous side'
HandoutThe family of a man who died after being hit by a car said he was "a kind, caring and generous man" who "always offered encouragement to everyone".
Ken Langley, 79, died after being struck by a black Ford Fiesta on Eastway in Maghull in Sefton near to the junction with Coniston Road at about 19:20 GMT on Tuesday.
In a statement his family they were "heartbroken" and paid tribute to a "beloved dad and close friend to many".
A 31-year-old man from Fazakerley arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and driving whilst unfit remained under investigation, Merseyside Police said.
"Ken was a kind, caring and generous man. He was proud of his military service and had a story for every occasion," his family said.
"He always offered encouragement to everyone, and will be remembered as much for his mischievous side, as well as his generosity.
"We thank everyone who has offered their condolences and support at this difficult time."
