Police have appealed for information following a fatal crash in Leicestershire.

Officers were called to Markfield just after 10:00 GMT on 11 January after reports a Green Skoda Karoq had left the road and hit a tree near the Retreat Farm on Thornton Lane.

The car had been travelling towards Botcheston and the driver, a man in his 30s, was taken to hospital but died from his injuries on 15 January.

Leicestershire Police have appealed for anyone who witnessed the crash or has dashcam footage to contact them.

PC Ellise Timmins said: "We know there was a woman in a yellow car at the time the incident occurred. We believe she may be able to help with our inquiries.

"We also know some motorists who were travelling behind the Skoda stopped to assist the driver."
