Nationwide Building Society was damaged during a ram-raid incident in Beccles

A building society has been left damaged after a cash machine was stolen during an overnight ram raid.

Suffolk Police was called to Nationwide Building Society in the New Market area of Beccles at 02:50 GMT.

A telehandler, which was believed to have been stolen from a farm in Ringsfield, was used to ram the front of the building and then rip the cash machine out.

It was then loaded into a dark-coloured van, possibly a Ford Transit, which has not been located, according to police.
