Festival attempts jiu-jitsu world record

More than 1,000 people have taken part in a Brazilian jiu-jitsu training session in an attempt to break a world record.

The session, led by Braulio Estima, was held during Bear Gryll's Gone Wild Festival at Exeter's Powderham Castle on Sunday, and aimed to promote the work of military charity Reorg.

It was hoped more than 2,500 people would take part in the largest-session attempt, but Mr Estima said 1,040 people took part making it number two in the world.

He said it was "an amazing achievement", adding "it's not number one in the world... guess what? It's the number one in Europe".
