'Productive talks' on Barra and Vatersay Campus

Plans for a campus in the Western Isles that would include schools, health services and leisure facilities are to be progressed following support from the Scottish government.

The Barra and Vatersay Community Campus project has faced repeated delays.

Local authority Comhairle nan Eilean Siar said "productive talks" had been held with the Scottish government on funding arrangements and risk management.

Design work is expected to restart and two new posts are to be created to manage the project.

NHS Western Isles is also involved in the project.
