Police have warned people in Jersey about a scam involving fraudsters claiming to be from Ukraine.

A post on Jersey Police's Facebook page said a letter was being sent from someone claiming they were an investment consultant from the country and had £20.6m in security funds stuck in China.

The letter asked the recipient to secure the funds for them with an offer of being able to keep almost 45% of the money.

Police said the letter was a scam and urged people not to respond to it or give their personal details out.
