The park and ride runs from Monday to Fridays to and from the hospital

Fares for a park and ride service to the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital will double from Monday.

The service started in January 2025 at £1 for a return journey - this will increase to £2.

A spokesperson for Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust (SaTH) said this was to make sure the service could keep going, while allowing the trust to spend its budget on front-line care.

Since its launch, the park and ride averaged 600 journeys each week as it runs from Monday to Friday between 06:20 and 21:25 GMT, they added.

Buses run every 15 to 20 minutes from the Oxon Park and Ride site to the hospital's current main entrance.

There are no services on Saturdays, Sundays and bank holidays.
