A man was driven at and carried on top of a car's bonnet at 60mph before being thrown from the vehicle on a slip road, police have said.

A blue Jaguar XF drove at a man who was standing in front of the car at the A174 roundabout near Thornaby shortly before 12:00 BST on Monday.

Cleveland Police said the car then continued to drive at about 60mph on the access road to the A19 slip road where the man fell off.

The force, which is appealing for witnesses, said the man did not sustain any serious injuries.
