The collision happened near Kirkbean Village Hall on Wednesday

A female pedestrian has been seriously injured in a collision involving a quad bike in Dumfries and Galloway.

The 65-year-old was struck by the vehicle on the Arbigland road near Kirkbean Village Hall at about 09:30 on Wednesday.

She was taken to Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary for treatment.

The male rider of the red Honda TRV quad bike was not injured.

PC Callum Kingstree said: "Inquiries remain ongoing to establish the full circumstances and I'm appealing for anyone who saw what happened to come forward.

"I'd also ask drivers with dashcam footage from the area at the time to review this and bring anything of significance to our attention."
