Snowdrops in bloom in the North East and Cumbria

Snowdrops appeared in Brancepeth, County Durham, this week

Snowdrops are among the first plants to flower in the new year.

The bright, white plants are seen as the first signs of spring on grey, frosty winter days.

These little bulbs have been in bloom across the north-east of England and Cumbria.

Here are some that have been spotted across the region.
