A teenage girl suffered potentially serious injuries when she was hit by a car, paramedics said.

The crash happened on Langley Road in Lower Penn, Staffordshire, near Wolverhampton, just before 08:15 GMT on Thursday .

The teenager, who was a pedestrian at the time, was treated at the scene before she was taken to hospital, an ambulance service spokesperson said.

The driver stayed at the scene to help with inquiries, a West Midlands Police spokesperson added.
