Investigation launched after man dies in flat fire

A man has died in a fire at a flat in Stoke-on-Trent.

Police, paramedics and firefighters were called to Pool Street in Fenton at 09:00 BST on Tuesday.

A spokesperson for Staffordshire Police said a man was taken to hospital with serious injuries but later died.

His family were being supported by specialist officers, they added, and an investigation was under way into the cause of the fire.
