A charity is offering up to £20,000 for information about the death of a man whose body was found in the River Leam.

Adam Lucas, 51, was discovered in the water in Victoria Park, Leamington Spa, during the morning of 15 April.

A post-mortem examination found he had died following injuries that were consistent with an assault. Three people have been arrested on suspicion of murder and released on bail.

The reward is being offered by Crimestoppers who said the death had a devastating impact on those who knew and loved Lucas. A spokesman said any small detail could prove to be vital and that information could be shared anonymously.

Det Insp Gareth Unett of Warwickshire Police said "We understand there may be reasons people have felt unable to speak to police, which is why we are urging people with information to consider contacting Crimestoppers anonymously.

"No matter how small or insignificant it may seem, your information could be the missing piece that helps us establish the truth about what happened to Adam and provide answers for his loved ones."

A 27-year-old man from Birmingham, a 44-year-old woman and a 43-year-old man, both from Leamington Spa, have been arrested on suspicion of murder and bailed.

A 23-year-old woman from Birmingham, who was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and later on suspicion of murder, has also been bailed.
