An independent film festival is celebrating its 10th anniversary.

Indie Lincs, held at the Lincoln Arts Centre, highlights low budget features and short films and is home of the Imp film awards, with categories including best UK and best international short film.

As well as screenings, the festival include sessions with industry professionals, which this year includes Simon Nelson, BBC writers drama development executive.

Mikey Murray, who founded the festival, said: "Our festival is all about making the filmmakers feel welcome, really celebrating their films."

"Lincoln is a beautiful city. People will love to come here, filmmakers especially.

"So I just thought I'm going to create a film festival that's specifically for independent filmmakers."

Screenings this year include the world premieres of Empire of Lies about a conspiracy theorist and Bernd: Operation Germanenkind which tells the story of an actor who develops an interest in Nazi ideology.

The festival runs until 7 February.
