Eggs 'thrown at nurse' on hospital grounds
BBCA nurse who had eggs thrown at her as she walked through hospital grounds was left "shocked and shaken" by the incident, health bosses have said.
Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust said the incident happened at Diana Princess of Wales Hospital in Grimsby on Monday evening.
The trust its security teams were working with the police to try and identify those responsible.
Humberside Police said it was aware of the incident and asked anyone with information to get in touch.
The trust said the nurse, who has not been named, had completed a shift and was targeted while wearing her uniform.
In a statement via the trust, she said:"I was walking to the main hospital building when two cyclists came suddenly from behind the road near the bus stop and threw eggs at me.
"They rode away very fast before I could take any action."
The trust said it had seen a "number of incidents" in recent weeks after some staff found their cars had been hit by eggs at the end of their shifts.

Another nurse, who has asked not to be named, told the BBC she had a similar experience when leaving the hospital on 2 January.
She said she had walked past a group of people with bikes before an egg was thrown and "flew past my head".
"Thankfully it did not directly hit me, but it hit a sign next to my head and ricocheted back."
"I did not acknowledge it or react to it at the time, being alone and in the dark, but I have no doubt that they were aiming directly for my head.
"It has made me incredibly nervous about walking home but unfortunately I do not drive, so I have to."
Humberside Police, which received reports of an egg being thrown, said: "Our local policing teams are working closely with hospital security to identify those involved."
The force also encouraged anyone who has experienced a similar incident, or has any information, to get in touch.
