A University of Brighton graduate is set to support Team GB at the 2026 Winter Olympics.

Katy Williams will work as a physiotherapist for bobsleigh and skeleton athletes at the games, which run from 6 to 23 February in north Italy.

She will manage injury prevention, rehabilitation and on-site treatment to help athletes stay ready for the intense physical demands of their sports, according to the university.

Williams says she "can't wait" for the games.

"They are a great group of athletes to work with," she added.

Bobsleigh and skeleton are among the fastest and most physically punishing winter sports, the university said.

Athletes endure high G-forces, rapid turns, and repeated impacts, with skeleton racers hurtling headfirst down the ice at speeds of up to 140km/h (90mph), it added.

Williams has worked with Olympic, world, and European medallists across multiple sports since graduating from the East Sussex university with a master's in neuromusculoskeletal physiotherapy in 2018.

In 2025, she was part of the on-field medical response team at the Women's Rugby World Cup, providing physiotherapy support during England's quarter-final and semi-final matches.
