Man admits murdering wife at start of trial
Northamptonshire PoliceA man has admitted murdering his wife on the day his trial was due to begin.
Isobella Knight, a 32-year-old mother, was found dead by police in Burton Latimer, Northamptonshire, on 13 June.
Paul Knight, 36, had admitted the lesser offence of manslaughter - and denied murder - but changed his plea to guilty at Northampton Crown Court earlier.
Det Insp Torie Harrison said she was pleased Knight "finally decided to tell the truth".
"Her life was cut short by a man fuelled by thoughts only for himself," said Harrison.
"He has left two daughters without a mother and there is no sentence that could ever make up for that."
Paul Knight's sentencing hearing is expected on 29 January.

A preliminary post-mortem examination indicated Isobella Knight died in Donnington Road as a result of applied pressure to her neck.
Officers were led to the property after initial inquiries about a car crashing at a McDonald's restaurant at about 15:30 BST that day.
