Man arrested after e-bike crash leaves rider critically injured

A man has been arrested following an electric motorbike crash in Renfrew which left the rider critically injured in hospital.

Two female pedestrians, both aged 69, were also hurt and needed hospital treatement after the collision on Inchinnan Road on Tuesday. Two children, aged 10 and 11, were present, but uninjured.

A Sur-Ron electric dirt bike was involved in the crash, but was removed from the scene prior to police arrival.

It was later traced and a 40-year-old man, who was not the rider, was arrested in connection with the incident.

Sgt Martin Cunningham said inquiries into the circumstances around the crash were ongoing.

He asked anyone with dashcam or private CCTV footage to contact officers.
