Jersey firms urged to check grant eligibility

Business leaders are encouraging firms to check whether they are eligible for a new scheme aiming to support companies in Jersey.

Up to £5.3m will be available in the Government of Jersey's Better Business Support Package from Jersey Business, which is due to open later in March.

It could help fund initiatives aimed at staff training, productivity and apprenticeships, the government said.

An online eligibility checker informs firms whether they qualify for a 50% match-funded grant.

Paul Murphy, head of Jersey Business, said it was "an exciting package that should kick start investment" and would help businesses "to grow and be more profitable".

A series of briefings and workshops would be held to help them with the scheme, he added.
