Council that ordered InPost locker removal asked to approve another one
BBCA council that ordered the removal of an InPost locker in a conservation village is being asked to give retrospective permission for another.
The local authority in the Borders decided a 24-hour device was not "considered justifiable" next to the local green in Denholm and ruled it should be taken away.
Now the parcel delivery firm has submitted another planning application for the post office on Rosetta Road in Peebles.
The company says its lockers can reduce the environmental impact of to-door deliveries and create extra opportunities for local businesses.
Scottish Borders Council (SBC) was recently told that the locker in Denholm was a "conspicuous and incongruous feature in the streetscene".
It refused retrospective permission and ordered it should be removed.
Now the company has returned with a bid for approval for a locker it has put up about 30 miles away (48km) on Rosetta Road in Peebles.
SBC will be asked to decide its fate at a later date.
