A cyclist has died almost two weeks after he was involved in a road crash, police have said.

The collision, with a white Kia Sorento, happened in Gaddesden Row, Great Gaddesden, Hertfordshire, at about 09:30 GMT on 5 December.

Police said the cyclist had been travelling from Jockey End towards Hemel Hempstead at the time, and was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

A man arrested at the scene has been released on police bail, Hertfordshire Police added.

Det Sgt Ben Heath, from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: "Our thoughts are with the man's loved ones at this difficult time, and investigations are continuing to establish the circumstances around the collision.

"As part of our enquiries, we are appealing for anyone with information to please come forward."

He said officers were particularly keen to hear from anyone with dash cam footage.
