A hospital nurse has been struck off the nursing register after admitting not giving patients their medication.

Amie Louise Allen was working a night shift on a ward at Hull Royal Infirmary on New Year's Day in 2022 when the incidents took place.

A Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) hearing ruled she had signed the register to say she had given the drugs "when you knew that you had not".

Allen, who was previously serving a suspension, was found to have her fitness to practise impaired due to misconduct.

Allen admitted she had forged a signature of a colleague to claim the drugs had been second checked before being given out.

In its report, the NMC said Allen's actions had put patients "at risk of physical harm".

"The panel is of the view that there is a risk of repetition as the concerns relate to attitudinal problems which are, not impossible but, difficult to remediate and Miss Allen is yet to address these," the report added.

"It also noted that there were previous concerns about her behaviour.

"The panel therefore decided that a finding of impairment is necessary on the grounds of public protection."
