A consultation period has now opened for parents, staff, governors, and the wider community

Plans to merge two schools in Kent have been put forward for public consultation.

The Beyond Schools Trust has is proposing to merge Walderslade School and Greenacre School in Medway, which would "build on the strong partnership" that existed under the Walderslade & Greenacre Schools Partnership.

Bringing the schools together under one roof would "strengthen this collaboration and deliver an inclusive, forward-thinking learning environment", a trust spokesperson said.

A consultation period is open, in which parents, staff, governors and the wider community are encouraged to share their views.

An information evening is to be held on 17 December.

Head teacher Louise Campbell said: "We are proud of the progress already made and believe this proposal is an ambitious step forward for our students and community."

The proposals would see the schools merged from September next year.
