Highland Council says it is considering special licenses for pubs during Scotland's football World Cup campaign next summer.

The men's team will play their group C games in Boston and Miami, with their opening match against Haiti kicking off at 02:00 BST.

Highland licensing board currently allows pubs to open between 11:00 and 01:00, with extensions until 03:00 from Thursdays to Saturdays under certain conditions.

Highland Council said a decision would be issued in due course.

Scotland qualified for the World Cup with a 4-2 win over Denmark at Hampden Park in Glasgow.
