Man arrested and charged after Stranraer assault

A man has been arrested following an assault at a property in Stranraer.

Police were called out to the town's Mount Vernon Road at about 23:00 on Sunday.

A 21-year-old man was taken to University Hospital Crosshouse for treatment.

Police said a 22-year-old man had been arrested and charged in connection with the incident and was expected to appear at Stranraer Sheriff Court.
