Cannabis plants worth £1m seized in village drug raid

Two men have been charged after cannabis plants worth an estimated £1m were seized from a village in West Lothian.

Police raided the property in the Redmill area of East Whitburn on Thursday morning.

Det Sgt John Irvine said a "significant recovery" of between 1,000 and 1,200 plants was obtained from the cultivation.

Chin Trong, 47, and Mariusz Armata, 44, appeared at Livingston Sheriff Court on Friday charged drug offences. Armata also faces a human trafficking charge.

Both men were remanded in custody to appear again within eight days.
