A stretch of the M25 was closed after a motorist suffered a medical episode, police said.

National Highways said the motorway was closed anti-clockwise between junction 27 for the M11 and junction 26 near Waltham Abbey.

Essex Police said it was called at 11:40 GMT and a spokesperson said: "It was reported that a casualty had suffered a medical episode. They have been left in the care of the ambulance service."

At about 15:00, National Highways said the road had reopened.
