Police launch probe into man's death eight days after incident
BBCPolice have launched an investigation into a man's death eight days after an incident in East Lothian.
A 54-year-old man was taken to hospital after officers were called to a property in Carlyle Gardens in Haddington at about 12:40 on Tuesday 10 February.
He died in hospital on Wednesday 18 February and police have urged anyone with information to contact them.
Officers said a 41-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incident on 10 February and released pending further investigation.
Senior investigating officer Det Insp Ross Duthie said police wanted to speak to anyone who saw a white Mercedes GLA 200 in the area around the time of the incident.
Duthie, of the major investigation team, added: "My thoughts are with the man's family and friends at this difficult time.
"We have a dedicated team of officers carrying out extensive inquiries and a police presence remains in Haddington as part of this.
"Anyone with any information or concerns can speak to these officers."
The man's family have requested that their privacy is respected.
