Christopher Trezise was sentenced to 10 years and six months in jail for his crimes

A man who talked about abusing children and babies online has been jailed after admitting multiple child sex offences.

Christopher Trezise, from Rugby, Warwickshire, had more than 1,000 illegal pictures on his devices and had been sexually communicating with a child.

The 46-year-old was also arranging to meet an offender to sexually abuse another child before his arrest in May 2024, said Warwickshire Police.

The force's child sexual exploitation team found he had been "potentially distributing indecent images online" as well as being an active member of child abuse networks and forums.

Trezise pleaded guilty to three counts of making indecent photographs of a child and three counts of distributing indecent images of a child at a previous hearing at Warwick Crown Court.

He also admitted to arranging the commission of a child sex offence, possessing extreme pornographic images and engaging in sexual communication with a child.

A judge jailed him for 10 years and six months in jail at the same court on Thursday.

He was given an extended licence period of four years, and handed a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) for 15 years.

He was also ordered to sign the Sex Offenders' Register for life.

Detective Sergeant Jag Gill said Trezise was a "prolific offender" who used the internet to anonymously carry out his crimes.

He said: "The extreme level of content recovered from his devices was horrendous, and demonstrated a clear pattern of repeated and intentional behaviour and this severity was reflected in the length of his sentence.

"Our focus is the safety of children and the needs of victims. We will relentlessly pursue suspects like Trezise and anyone who uses the internet to groom, coerce, threaten, exploit or share abusive material involving children – working with partners and using all available investigative powers to bring offenders to justice."
