Work is set to start on a scheme to replace water pipes in a Lincolnshire village.

Anglian Water said the £3.1m project to upgrade 4.5km (2.8 miles) of water pipes in Old Leake, near Boston, will start on 5 January and is expected to be completed next summer.

Road closures and temporary traffic lights will be in place during the work.

Georgia Phillips, customer experience specialist, said the project would "make sure we can keep taps running and toilets flushing for residents in and around Old Leake for years to come".

Anglian Water said people may experience some interruptions in water supply for a short period while the new pipes are being connected to the existing water network.

Traffic lights will be in place on Church Road from 5 to 23 January and The Gride will be closed from 5 January to 20 March.

Station Road will be closed between 23 March and 1 April, as will Sibsey Road from 27 April to 31 May. Traffic lights will be in place on Church Road from 16 to 18 June.
