Bystanders praised after man's cardiac arrest
BBCQuick-thinking members of the public have been thanked for helping a man who suddenly became unwell in a town centre.
The Midlands Air Ambulance and paramedics arrived at Market Place, Willenhall, in the West Midlands, to find police officers and bystanders using a defibrillator on a man who had suffered a cardiac arrest.
Ambulance staff stepped in to take over resuscitation efforts and advanced life support and said they managed to successfully restart the man's heart before taking him by road to New Cross Hospital, Wolverhampton.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesperson praised those who helped in the medical emergency which occurred at about 11:00 BST.
