A woman who died following a dog attack at a house has been named locally as Jamie-Lea Biscoe.

Essex Police was called to Long Hide, in the village of Leaden Roding, near Dunmow, at 22:45 BST on Friday and found a 19-year-old woman with serious injuries.

Despite "the best efforts of emergency services", she was pronounced dead at the scene, the force said.

A man, 37, from Dunmow, was arrested on suspicion of being in charge of a dog dangerously out of control and causing injury resulting in death.

The force said the dog had been seized and specialist officers ensured the scene was safe.

A police cordon remained at the house on Sunday.
