Woman in 90s dies after two-vehicle crash

Police are appealing for witnesses after a woman in her 90s died following a two-vehicle crash.

The collision involving a silver Suzuki Alto and a red Toyota Aygo took place on the A46 Painswick Road in Pitchcombe, Stroud, on 12 January.

The occupants of the Suzuki were taken to hospital for treatment, and the passenger, a woman from the Cheltenham area, died in hospital two days later on 14 January, said Gloucestershire Police.

The driver, a man in his 70s, has since been discharged from hospital.

The driver of the Toyota was assessed by paramedics at the scene and required no further treatment.

Officers said the crash happened close to the junction with Wades Lane, at about 13:35 GMT.

Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to contact the force.
