A teenager has died after being struck by a car.

Three people have been arrested as part of a police investigation into the pedestrian's death and the road has since reopened.

The age of the teenager who died has not been made public at this stage, but they were a pupil at the Thomas Lord Audley school.

An Essex Police spokesperson said: "Our enquiries continue to establish the events prior to the collision and we would like to speak to anyone who may have information about the incident or have dashcam footage and has not spoken to us yet.

"If you have any information, CCTV, dash cam or other footage in relation to this incident, then please get in contact with us."

The teenager's school opened on Sunday afternoon so staff could offer support and guidance to pupils and give them a place to gather together.
